Message from OldF7Guy's family
I received the following message from Eric (OldF7Guy) Armes' mother to share with you all:

Anne Wrote:I am Eric Armes’s mother. I wanted to let you and all the buddies Eric had made on your forum know just how much your comments meant to my husband and me. I have read them several times and will keep the copies forever. I am amazed at the caring shown to us in those comments. We are heartbroken over the sudden death of our son, but the comments made by his buddies on the forum were like hugs to us when we needed them most. We thank all of you for taking the time to write your thoughts. You responded from all over the U.S.A from Maine to California , and also from France, Australia , Canada , Dominican Republic and Czech Republic.

Our son had started his own business about a year ago and was doing well. Eric was really looking forward to the rally in North Carolina in May! (Of course, his 78-year old mother was already getting a little nervous thinking about it!) He was getting his gear together and his bike in even better shape than it already was. Since we’ve had more than our share of snow this winter, he managed to “go for a little ride” every time the sun came out. He truly loved the freedom he felt when he was out on his bike. Now, both Hondas sit silent in our basement, as if waiting for him to come down and give them a little TLC.

Just want you to know that it would be our honor to meet any of you if you ever come to Kentucky. We live about 35 minutes south of Louisville, right off I65 at Exit 94.

Again, our sincere thanks to all of you for your tributes to our son.

Blessings,

Anne Armes

That is outstanding that the group had a positive impact.

I feel a lot more like I do now than I did when I got here.

Well, that made reading hard through blurry eyes.

How nice of her to write. Glad we ( members of this forum) were able to ease some of her pain, if only for a little while.

Guth if you have contact info for Anne, please pass it to me and I will make an effort to get down there and say hello from the forum in the not too distant future.

Wonderful!
It's nice to know that the family was aware of all the kind words and sentiment that was posted here.
I agree ferret, that was emotional to read.

How incredibly kind and thoughtful of her to reach out to us and let us know that our words provided some comfort to her and her family. Describing our comments as hugs that were needed ... I'm at a loss for what to say other than I'm so glad they were received exactly as they were intended.

You hear so much negativity about the internet and social media. But examples like this, and this forum in particular, make me feel certain that more good than bad comes from the technology that allows us to connect with like- minded people from all over the world.

No more CB, but a GB.
Triumphs and Ducatis.
A Norton, MV, and Morini 175.
Probably others.

Another thread that I read through somehow suddenly blurry vision. Truly moving how this community can bring such comfort to Eric's family.

Peace.
