There is a second big danger here, and that is the assumption that they didn't just make their turn wide and then immediatly wander from the left lane, back over into the right, and on top of the rider. Happened to one of the other members, here on the forum, and they ended up in the hospital. Despite being "in the right" continuing to race up beside them, and make the point, can end up badly.

I feel a lot more like I do now than I did when I got here.

you are correct indeed.
i try to accelerate quickly passed and be ready to pull right in case they move over.
