Newbie from Bellingham, Washington
Hello Everybody,

I've been on the Forum for a couple of weeks and only recently heard about the new members section. I've been riding since I was 8 y/o, starting with a Honda XL with a lot of CR parts added in by my older brother! I've owned several Hondas throughout my riding history; a CB1100F (my favorite), a CBX, and an Interceptor.

I've had 47 bikes in total, in just about every style and from all corners of the globe, my favorite street bikes have always been air-cooled transverse fours of the standard category. Most recently I was riding a GSX1400R in Germany, that was an amazing bike - unfortunately US import laws wouldn't let me bring it home!!

I saw the CB1100 on the roads in England and Europe and hoped it would come to the USA, so glad Honda made that decision! I repatriated a few months ago and will be buying a house this month, as soon as the mortgage papers are signed i'll be looking for my CB1100. I like twin exhaust so will be looking for a '14 Deluxe.

Here's a larger image of the 1100F in my profile, I didn't own this exact bike but always thought that's what my '83 would have evolved into had I held onto her...
İmage
Give me a shout if you're ever up in my neck of the woods, I'd love to meet like-minded riders and will share some great back roads with you while you're here!

See you in the post threads, Tom

G'day and welcome, Tom. You have chosen well. Hope you are successful in your quest for a CB1100 DLX. If posts here are to be believed, they are in short supply in the US.

Look forward to learning more about your riding.

That is a fine looking CB you have shown us. The GSX1400R is also one of my favourites.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy the ride.

Cheers

Hey there and welcome! Hope you can find a DLX. Might have to do some searching and some driving to get to one - but as above, good luck!

Thanks ALL, very much appreciate your kind words!

There are a few leftover CB1100s in my area, a mix of '13s (DLX) and '14s (Black). I'm notoriously cheap and will be driving a hard bargain. My goal is to buy a new leftover DLX under $6K!! I'll let you know if I'm able to pull that off, if not I'm sure whatever price paid will bring lots of 2-wheeled enjoyment!!

If you're looking at a '13, it's not a DLX. That didn't start until '14. There are some really good bargains on '13's but I've not yet heard of a deal coming in under $6k for a new one. Maybe you'll be the first.

Happy hunting - looking forward to a post with pic of you and your new bike!

Welcome to the forum Tom!

Best of luck with your CB1100 search. As others have mentioned, here in the States in 2013 there were no Standard or Deluxe models, just the "CB1100" and you could choose to buy it with or without ABS. The only color offered in this country was Red and the only exhaust option was the 4 into 1 configuration.

In 2014, Honda introduced the Standard (available only in black) and Deluxe (available only in red) versions to the USA. There is a plethora of information on this forum detailing the differences between the 2013 and 2014 bikes (most notably the '13s were 5 speeds and the '14s were 6 speeds), and between the Standard and Deluxe versions (the Deluxe features ABS, a larger gas tank and weighs more compared to the Standard). But perhaps of greatest interest to you is that the Deluxe is the only version that came with the 4 into 2 exhaust configuration that you desire.
