RE: Who has adjusted their chain?
Following up on advice from the Honda shop yesterday, I loosened my chain to the recommended 1 1/4" deflection (I had adjusted it to 1/2" earlier) and my shifting misses have gone away. I do admit I have a lazy foot, however, which might have been contributing to my shifting woes. The chain was probably at the correct deflection but my simple mind had said "It's too loose and needs to be tighter." That's when my shifting misses started.
Update:
A longer ride this afternoon plus in-town idiot traffic forced a lot of start-stop and shifting. Pleased that I had narry a mis-shift since adjusting the chain.

2014 Standard, PS2 Shield, Corbin seat, luggage rack, Givi tail box.

a chain that smiles is a happy chain. my guess is that you all are stretching your chains as the suspension cannot travel it's full stroke due to your tight chains.

RE: Who has adjusted their chain?
I adjusted the chain the previous week. Rode it hard and when checking my slack was bigger than before...about 4-4.5mm.

So i adjusted it again. Bolted the nut a bit firmer as recommended and gonna ride to see if it holds.

That was strange though.

Riko, How did your second attempt go? I had the same problem--ended up buying a torque wrench, tightened +1lbf (for a total of 70lbf's) and also tightened the adjuster screws in the pull position. So far it's held for me. Good luck. -A

RE: Who has adjusted their chain?
Lol I started adjusting my chain the first time AFTER I bought a quality torque wrench.
İmage

And I also tightened the the adjusters...

So I dont get it why the slack increased.

did some short city riding...and the chain slack stayed at same like after my second adjustment, +/-30mm
Tomorrow I will do some highway and secundary roads, looking forward to it since its gonna be very sunny Smile
