Large images now being resized
Some of the images (photos) that members have been posting have become exceedingly large. In effect such images are totally blowing out the forum interface. I've made some modifications to the forum software so that all images will be limited in their initial size as they appear within a post. To see the larger version of the image (assuming that it was large enough to be resized in the first place) you just need to click on the image and a new browser window will open containing the original image file.

Hope this helps,
Guth

RE: Large images now being resized
Thanks! Good idea!
I always wondered if the same could be done for members profile pictures? Some are really interesting looking but too small to show detail?
Right now both the name and picture takes you to the user's profile.
Maybe just the name to go to the user's profile and the picture would go to larger image?
If not, it's good as it is....just a thought.
Thanks for all the hard work!

RE: Large images now being resized
Just so you know, whatever fix you applied to resize the pictures also seems to have essentially ruined several of my (and others') seat time reports. I have come to this conclusion because the picture codes are corrupted and show the word "resize" in them and because the pictures were displaying correctly earlier this summer. Oh, and by the way, mthe original photos were not extremely large or, at least they did not display that way on my devices and no other person ever mentioned it to me.

This is more than a little irritating to me because I put a fair amount of work into the reports and, more important, I have had several friends express an interest in reading my stuff and now they cannot.

I believe I can edit my original posts to correct the image codes, but I am not allowed to edit them this long after I posted them. I would like to suggest that you change the editing time restrictions for awhile to give those of us access to our original posts and to correct them if we so desire.

Thank you

Matt

RE: Large images now being resized
Guth, without doubt, resize of large images is necessary. However, with respect, I have to agree with MTC regarding corruption of posts that have taken some time and effort to produce. OK, I do understand they are not masterpieces deserving of a place in cyber posterity. In fact most Seat Time posts don't attract the same amount of interest as a header polishing thread or threads concerning the substance we dare not name. But, for example, my post, Houston.........., was put in place midway through last year and was, rather surprisingly, resurrected only a few months ago so I was dissapointed to see that most of the images have disappeared. Why only some? Puzzling.

My good mate Cormanus and many others, including MTC, do put an effort into these posts so I would ask that you let us know your forum policy regarding images, archiving etc. Seat Time, and other posters, can then tailor their efforts with your guidelines in mind.

Cheers

A surprising resurrection.

Stuff to do with that time in our history needs to be revisited now and then.

On another note enjoyed your Omeo - Mitta Mitta video, it's a good representation of the overall journey.

My recent journey on that road was just at a slightly slower pace.

Thanks and regards

One of the best looking CB 1100's I've ever seen! Nice work! Is that one of those EMGO fairings?
