You guys ride safe when you go.
The hang gliders are gone, the Elsinore valley is filled with track homes, Ortega is a commuter road for those that chose to buy homes in Elsinore valley and commute to Orange county.
Unfortunately, the good old days are long gone. I rarely ride Ortega any more. Too dangerous with the number of brain-dead car drivers that use it now.
Back in the day I too rode Ortega, every weekend. I have fond memories of the good old days.
Okay So Cal CB1100 riders, let's try and find a date in 2016 that works for most of you and get a critical mass of CB1100's together for a ride. GO!
I remember this area... used to live in Norco in the late 70s and rode my KZ650 up in that area as a teenager. Went back a few years ago and I am so glad I am out of that area. I now live in SE Idaho, not too far from Yellowstone/Teton area. Some great riding here in the late spring thru early fall.
I've only ridden the Ortega Highway once, about a year or so ago, and maybe I lucked out. There was relatively little traffic and it was a fantastic ride. I'm going to give it another go and hope for a similar experience.
