Thanks MSCB, I'm afraid I've been guilty of not letting it drain for long enough, which explains why my siteglass always looks full.

Thanks, hope you are enjoying NC, I grew up there and still miss it.
Luckily I get back 2-3 times a year to visit family

RE: interesting conversation about draining oil
Way back when I was a teenager and started being crazy about motorcycles, I read how some fancy racecars were started-up with fresh oil that was pre-heated for extra engine protection, so of course I had to do that with my precious CB500/4. I put 4 cans of castrol gtx in the kitchen gas oven...cans in those days had cardboard wrapped containers....it REALLY stunk up the house and made a real mess of my moms oven.
True story.

A frugal bro of mine uses synthetic oil in his Kawasaki and when he changes it, he recycles that oil for his car oil change, and when he changes that recycled oil in his car he re-recycles that same oil again for his lawn mower oil change.

Years ago we poured the used motor oil around fence post to keep rot and termites away , but mostly it was used around the foundation of our homes to keep termites from eating them.

The best part about growing up in Florida is i didn't have to move here when i got old.

On our farm growing up, Dad always poured the used oil on the driveway to keep the dust down.
