Fender Eliminator that isnt $275
I did a search for threads with F.E. in the title - only came up with the RYUJIN one...

I am going to make an eliminator out of 304 SS (about $22) and a mini Lucas style tail light, about $12...

I was wondering if anyone has made their own before and to see their design, and depending on how mine turns out if you'd be interested in the design...

One or 2 have and posted pics, but I couldn't find them and don't remember who it was. Hopefully they will chime in.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

I made a fender eliminator pretty much the same way you describe, but with aluminum plate. I'll post some pics of it tomorrow when I take the bike out. It's actually a pretty easy project the way the bike is set up, the only thing you need to sort out is some proper length spacers for where the two bolts go up at the rear.

I'll probably take some 1/2" SS tubing and cut it to what I need for spacers.

But since I just ordered the yosh RSCV and the sw-motech crash bars that might have to wait for a few weekends from now.

5052H32 aluminum is a good choice if you need to bend it. I like to use a drill bit or end mill as a forming die when bending aluminum.

İmage

You want the bend radius at 2x the thickness (4x thickness for diameter of bit).

I'm going to use ss because I have access to a bending table and a plasma cutter.

I didn't go all the way to eliminating mine. I like the look of the arch of the fender extending along the sides under the seat. It looks more finished with it than nothing at all to me. Obviously I don't have the tail light bracket mounted as I'm waiting on the seat to get back from the upholstery shop. That's my quick/cheep fender convertion. Way less than $275!
