Any 2 up riders ?
My wife and I have been riding Sport Touring bikes for many years and are thinking about getting a smaller, lighter bike. I love the look of the CB1100. Does anyone ride 2up ? I was wondering about the power.

I ride two up quite a bit. The big CB11 has a lot more power than you'll ever need. My HD Road King does not have the power and acceleration of the CB11 and if I really let it rip I would risk throwing her off the rear seat which would kill my chances of having a pleasant evening.

My partner saddles up on the back from time-to-time. She really enjoys hitching a ride - she sometimes doesn't even know she is doing 175 km/h. The point? - The CB is that smooth with two-up.

Yep. My wife and I like to take the bike for date nights. We're about 350 lbs together. An extra five pounds of air in the rear tire and another two clicks on the rear suspension and we're golden. Plenty of power. We have the Corbin seat. I love it, but I also commute by bike about three days a week, and it's formed to my posterior. My wife thinks it's too hard after about 45 minutes. I think she needs to ride more

I bought the bike mainly to commute, but have ridden 2 up with my wife. Together we are about 280 lbs, and the bike has plenty of smooth power. However, if you're used to touring bikes, it might be hard to adjust to the amount of wind you will be subjected to on the CB. I have a Puig windscreen, which helps, but you still get fatigued faster than with a full fairing bike. As far as the seat goes, its not bad, I would upgrade if your going to be doing long rides.

i have the blessing/curse of not really being able to go 2 up with my wife for very far. she'll fall asleep on the pillion after about 1 hour max of riding. she's never complained about the comfort, and it's actually plenty comfortable wind-wise. I would not say you're going to get really significant storage on this bike while carrying a passenger, though plenty of have mounted a full-on 3 box set on theirs.

Classic.

The wife lasts one hour each direction. So the tour has to be broken up with other non-riding events along the way.

Either that is some sweet shifting and braking, or the traffic, roads and cager behaviour are magical?

RE: Any 2 up riders ?
Counter point... I am a big guy (6'4") and my wife *hates* riding on the back of the CB1100. Maybe I take too much space on the seat, but she told me she liked riding on my Aprilia SuMo much better! Alas, I don't like riding two-up much anyway, so no big loss. I suspect this also may be because there's not as much slope/back for her to lean against, but whatever the case, she hates the CB. If you are 6' or over, you should definitely test it out before you buy... YMMV.
