Another Florida member
Hello everyone,
Just got a new-to-me 2013 model with ABS. I learned about the bike on a Monday, went to see it on Wednesday and came back home riding, crossing Florida from the West coast to the East coast on a beautiful sunny day.
I have been riding motorcycles since 1982 until 2003, when I moved to the USA, but it was not until last year that I decided to take the course to get back to riding. I bought a pre-owned BMW that was a great bike, but just too big and bulky for me, I had it for seven months, put it for sale and it was gone in less than five days. Then I saw the CB1100 and everything felt right, even the price! I guess it can be diagnosed as a clear example of mid-life crisis, but I'm enjoying every second of it.
Looking forward to meeting some of you out there on the road, particularly the "Florida chapter" which seems to have a lot of members.

Welcome from Stuart, FL. I too got rid of a BMW (K1200RS) to buy my 2013 CB1100. It's a great bike, enjoy it in good health. Ride safe.

RE: Another Florida member
Thanks everyone for the welcome messages.
So, here is a picture of the bike that I took this morning before riding to Ft. Pierce to have lunch by the seaside. The bike has 3 thousand miles but looks almost brand new. Everything is stock except for the rear carrier and the chrome meter covers, which I believe were original Honda accessories. Eventually I will be looking to install a fairing, and for now, the Road Comet seems to be my preferred choice. Any suggestions?

The meter covers and that rack are OEM accessories. A large number of us have the Road Comet. Now you just have to decide if you want the RC1 or the RC2 and what color! Smile

I also have sliders and many instead have case guards. Might consider that. There are choices for the guards. One has road clearance issues, so ask here before buying a set and we can warn you. Lots of pics on the forum with all kinds of mods. With this bike, you might want a wallet guard!! Smile

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

I used to live in Ft Pierce in the 50's. Crushed shell roads, running down the road behind the truck spraying or mosquitos every night, 3 kinds of poisonous snakes found in my yard, hurricanes, 4th grade Spanish class where you were not allowed to speak English, but were allowed to eat ice cream in class, the A&W Root Beer stand up at the corner that would give me a red hot dog and a mug of root beer for sweeping the lot...ahh the memories for a 9 year old
