To clarify, when I started selling stuff, I had almost three full pages of PMs, and it was less than 100% full. Now, after constant cleaning/deleting, I have just over one page worth, and I'm constantly at 99-100%! How's that possible?!
You have to remove the deleted items from your sent items and trash can, too.

Plus, The Forum automatically reduces the size of your mailbox in proportion to the number of CB1100 parts you own; When everything is sold, you will have no mailbox at all. ROFL

Yeah, I do that each time. Learned that one the hard way.
And yeah, that's starting to seem like exactly the situation! Undecided

Surely it must be my fault, Papa, but I have no idea why it's happening or how to fix it! ROFL

LOL.
Yeah, I'd love to be able to figure this one out. It's a pain having to delete then clean out the trash can with nearly every new PM.

You have cleaned out the Sent Items, Drafts and Saved folders as well as your Inbox and the Trash Can, haven't you?

If you've done that and you're still having trouble, try logging out of the forum and logging back in again. I've no idea whether it will make any difference, but it's worth a try.

I've done a bit of research and have yet to find anything that could explain this so it's a bit of a mystery to me. I'd be curious to know if anyone else is experiencing this same behavior.

RE: Cleaning out pms
I just did a cleaning out of my PMs and paid some attention to what was going on.

My percent-of-space-used gauge read 93% full when I began.

When I cleaned out the inbox and outbox, they went into the trash can.

If there were more than a page full of messages (maybe 15 or so) in the inbox, outbox or trash can, I had to go back and delete more until all were deleted. You can't tell how many old messages are hidden in the boxes without just going back and forth. I hope that makes sense.

Emptying the trash can is the final step. You need to select the trash can from the menu on the left of the page and then select each message shown. Then hit the delete button at the bottom of the page on the right. But then you need to do all that again and again until you get rid of every page of messages. I had 12 pages of "trash can" messages to get rid of. But now my counter reads 3% full. I saved all the messages about the Down Under Rally in case of litigation Big Grin

This is poorly written, but I hope maybe it helps someone somewhere!

Inhouse has the answer. Like he says, they go to the trash when you delete them and then you have to 'take out the trash' Smile Then the space should free up.

I have to do that on my phone email accounts too.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it!

RE: Cleaning out pms
Nope. That's what this whole thread was originally about - the need to empty the trash can after deleting your PMs. As I mentioned, I've been doing that. And my space keeps getting smaller and smaller. I've been trying to keep the PMs for the people I've had transactions with recently, so I can keep track of what's been paid, and shipped, and received, but at this rate I won't be able to even do that.
Really strange, and kind of frustrating.

BINGO!
You sir, are a scholar and a hero. It was the SENT ITEMS. Oy. Now I feel really dumb. I had no idea that the sent stuff was saved, and counted in my message space. Never even noticed it in the drop-down menu for categories. I've been cleaning out the Inbox stuff, then emptying the trash can, but the Sent Items were piling up!
TA-DA!
Thank you, sir! Worship
