SCCBrider is the forum nom de guerre of a great rally character, Kenny. As he's ben at both rallies, I suspect it may be a reference to him.

+1 for me on somewhere near the southern section of the BRP and after labor day date.

The main plus I see is temperature control...being "naked" bikes we are more susceptible to wind and weather than more fairinged motorcycles.

If it's 90 down low, go up to the BRP where it's a nice and cool 70's.

If it's cold/cool like 60/70....then stay down on the plentiful curvy road in the foothills....no need to go up to 40/50 temps when down low has plenty of curves.

I've been in all the states except for the west coast and would like to ride in all of them but IMO southern BRP is best.

My head is spinning with all the suggestions... Confused

Who has the time to put together a summary list and maybe add a poll to the thread?

Personally I'd like to see 3 or 4 day rides and rallies scattered all over the place, even Australia and Europe as an inducement for me to get out and ride! Can't guarantee I'd make it this time but I'd love to ride the Ozarks or Texas. Who doesn't want to ride Colorado, Utah, Arizona?

If enough people are interested in hitting the NC/TN/VA region I'll be glad to assist in what ever way. In addition to the "large" towns in the area consider places like Banner Elk, NC or Johnson City TN or even Damascus VA.

If anybody wants to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway region, organized or not, let me know.

If I say the other half of Ben, as in Bill & Ben the Flowerpot men, will it make sense to an American?

Indeed, and it gets better when you remember it was the 1960s ... or maybe that explains everything. Big Grin

RE: 2017 Rally when and where?
I think that if the location were say in a place like Eureka Springs, there would be several benefits.
It is kind of centrally located to people on areas of the country, rather than on either of the coasts.
It is an extremely motorcycle friendly town. I have stayed there before, and many hotels such as the Inn Of The Ozarks cater to motorcyclists, even offering covered locked cycle parking.
The whole area seems to be made for scenic motorcycle riding. There are many websites dedicated to motorcycling in the Ozarks.
I also like the idea of September. The weather is starting to cool off, leaves are starting to turn colors etc. Just avoid the weekend of Bikes Blues and BBQ in Fayetville. Eureka Springs fills up from thatSmile
Just my humble opinion having been there.
