Wow, Americans would never put up with that lol. Probably makes for better riders though. Wonder how the mc accident rate compares in Germany vs US.

Good luck with your quest.

when you had a car license starting from a certain year, i think that includes all 50+ year olds, or older, you could just buy a hayabusa and ride.

no limitations what so ever in weight, power, cc, etc.
no lessons, no nothing

absolute freedom

facts did prove the worst riders were the older riders, those with no lessons...
and statistics in europe showed an increasing number of fatalities with motorcycles, thats why the new system of a gradual upgrade in power/license.

its an attempt to reduce the fatalities

welcome coliban btw Smile

RE: Hello from Germany
Ok, today i passed the driving license test. I had to do some exercises and do a ride threw the town, it took about 1 hour. I am very glad I passed, there are numerous occasions where one can easily fail. The last month I started to run (about 5 miles), because I thought it would be good to be in good condition for traveling on the bike on the autobahn for a longer time.

Now I have to search a cb1100ex, I want a red one. Since the actual cb1100ex are not allowed to be sold from next year on (Euro 4), there are only a few left at the local dealers, so I have to do a little bit of searching to get a red one.

But for now I am very happy.

Congrats and good luck with your search. All ex's are fine bikes so if you can't find a red one, don't miss out on one altogether because of color.

Guys are paying the dickens here in the US now trying to find deluxes.

Congratulations on the license Coliban and good luck with the search.

There was some discussion here recently about whether or not the EX is EURO 4 compliant. Forum member Riko was, as I recall, pretty insistent that it is compliant.

RE: Hello from Germany
Its easy, if the bike isn't offered next year on Honda websites in Europe, than it seems to be not compliant.

If its still offered next year on websites in Europe, I guess it is.
I'll be watching the Belgian site.
