I repeated the test "correctly" this time (sorry for the incorrect information - I edited my original post). I do hear a faint clicking sound, in addition to the fuel pump. Cycling the cut-off switch off and on is the best way to perform this test. I guess my IACV is not the cause of my idle speed fluctuations. Thank you for all you feedback.

Glad everyone could confirm the click for Dave and help him out. All I can hear is a constant, annoying, high-pitched "hush," but that's in my head, not on the bike. Dang tinnitus.
Ride more. Worry less.
