SF bay area riders - Ride to the Sierras - Fri/Sat (July 29-30)

Hello SF bay area riders ..

Starting point San Ramon, CA or anywhere on the East bay or off I-580

I'll be heading out to ride the Sierra Nevada passes ( take 88 or 4 or 108 to 395) and staying overnight at the Topaz Lodge on Topaz Lake, NV for beers/dinner/casino or what ever. May check out Bodie either on Fri or on the way back on Sat

The plan is to leave on Friday morning at around 9 or 10 am and arrive at 5 or 6 pm relaxed / medium pace ride and stop as needed to check out the sights ..

Return route take another route on the way back .. leave after breakfast at 9 or 10 AM and be back by 4 -5 pm . I have a family commitment on Sunday hence the fri/sat trip


I was planning this on the touring rig R1200RT but if any CB riders want to join in Id be happy to do it on the minimalistic CB 1100.

I'm interested (and available), but would like to start earlier to avoid the heat. I live in San Jose. I could go on my touring bike (2014 Triumph Trophy SE) as well, already equipped to carry an overnight bag and plenty of drinking water. It would be more comfortable that way, but would also consider riding my "bare bones" CB1100, although not nearly as comfortable. Are reservations required at the Topaz Lodge?

Desinned.. We can meet at 8 am off the 580 freeway in Livermore to beat the heat / traffic. am to avoid traffic. If you are on the triumph, I can be on the RT as I just want to get out and ride

Sorry, I can't make it after all. I forgot that I have some close relatives visiting from Missouri on Friday and over the weekend. But, please keep me in mind for next time. Tks!

Great to hear from you, IndianRider! This little trip sounds like just what I need right now, but darn it all, I just can't break free of my commitments on those dates. Maybe next time. Be safe and have a blast!!
