RE: The Loop
I really like that loop and those types of roads. But studying your map, I wonder if your epic trip west to California a couple years back was possibly less ambitious than I first thought? :-)

Lol.. Took me a couple of minutes to realize what you were saying. That's funny.. Maybe 8 miles up the road west of my house is a place called California.... California, Ohio.

RE: The Loop
If they have a bridge over the Ohio River called the Golden Gate, then they've gone too far! California, KY... that was news to me!
Anyway, your loop looks about perfect to me. Elevation changes, curves, scenery - very nice!

RE: The Loop
looks like fun roads and i tried to get a better look using Google Earth Pro but kept getting lost. did not realize how close to Kentucky your at so my guess is your a lot more country than i imagined.
The best part about growing up in Florida is i didn't have to move here when i got old.

RE: The Loop
Ok so the original pictures were lost with the Photobucket thing so I threw in some new pics from a ride on The Loop from this summer with my son, brother and son FIL.
I have taken several forum members on rides of The Loop..Empty Sea and his gang and most recently Stichill.
Anyhow twice in the last week I have ridden The Loop (the yellow outlined ride in post 1). Always wondered how many true curves there were, not squiggles, but curves that required input and leaning. So one day I rode it and counted all the left curves upon leaving my driveway (82). The next time I rode it I counted all the right curves upon leaving my driveway (also 82..ha!) So 36 miles, 164 curves, 5 stop signs (4 of those within 3.9 miles of my house...the next one 15 miles away), no traffic lights. Speed limit is 55 mph except for 2 short stretches of 45 and 1 short stretch of 50 mph).
I never tire of riding this road

Great pics and looks like a fun ride. Still trying to find my "loop" here in Memphis.

RE: The Loop
Nice pictures. Looks like really pretty country. With all regards to Sea, I couldn't imagine living in a big city. Like you I've gotten spoiled being able to drive one mile and being on a nice country road that great riding. Something, I believe, the CB is really made for. A gentlemanly drive in the country.

Great place to ride a motorcycle!

Indeed, Ferret, you have a fantastic region in which to ride! Am very envious! Looks like you are not far from Cincinnati (just a bit northwest of you). There are lots of wonderful gently rolling hills around that area!
Good to know you are gradually back up and running again! Be safe!
