Dear noroomtomove

We haven't got what you want. We won't be importing it. But please look at all the stuff you don't want.

Regards

Perhaps what they are saying is this.

We make lots of stuff and as you live on an island so we control what you can have.

Deep down I realy do not care, give it a few years and perhaps the parralel importers will give them a challenge to satisfy consumer demand. In the mean time, I'm watching the mile posts and trying not to breath in whilst passing road kill for that is one of the joys of summer.

You get the drift

You're right about the road kill!

2018 and we'll be able to import anything we want from countries like Japan or the UK with equivalent or better design rules. that's the parallel import, I guess. I don't know whether the legislation got through Parliament.

Ah, well, let's keep riding.

I posted some later figures here. The little Ninja 300 had shot to the lead.

The article I linked to in the earlier post is here.

RE: 2017 CB1100 coming to Austalia ? Honda response
I would like to thank Honda in Australia for the prompt response. I sent an enquiry with regards to the CB1100 2017 Ex received an answer a few days later. The Yamaha XJR1300 is for sale in Victoria for $15490 ride away and I guess that is where Honda would sell the 2017 CB1100EX. It would be at least near or above that price point. Ok, a stab at $15000-17000. The self answering question is would I pay that? Not in 2017.

Here is the Honda response.

"Thank you for contacting Honda Australia.

We wish to advise that the 2017 Honda CB110 EX you have requested information on is not available within Australia and we have no current plans for any release.

Unfortunately, it is not always possible to obtain all of the models produced by our factories worldwide.

There are a number of factors involved in determining our model line-up, such as production costs, product availability, exchange rates and modification requirements for our market etc. We also review feedback from our future and existing customer base and also market trends obtained from our dealer network.

Once again thank you for expressing your interest in Honda products and if you require more information on models available within Australia please contact your local Honda dealer or refer to our website:

http://motorcycles.honda.com.au/

Kind Regards,
Joyce"

Hi Everyone

I have a 2010 CB1100 that I love. I too have written to Honda Oz on numerous occasions inquiring whether they are bringing the new models out, and got the same lame brush off...

We as you mention that as from next year you can import a right hand car or a motorbike that is not available here (model).

Happy Days indeed as you can bring one out every two years!

Up yours Honda Australia! Wink

CRF1000 makes a lot of sense in Oz. I've seen many a YouTube of Aussies heading out into the bush on their bikes. It's like the western USA. Lots of uninhabited land out there. We're still sitting on '14's in the USA. Three dealers near me have them.
